Day 7: 'Arriving in Tucson and Seeing Cole'

We had a very relaxing morning out in the desert, getting ready for our short 2 hour drive to Tucson.  We got the animals all fed & situated and since we still had an hour before we had to leave to make it to Tucson at 11am (when the RV resort allowed us to check in) we decided to take a walk down the dry river bed located just a bit behind our camping spot.  (I guess they call these ‘washes’ down here.)

As we were walking, I made note of our start time and then kind of freaked out.  We forgot the time change and we were 1 hour ahead!  We ran back to the trailer and scrambled to get the pets into the truck and the trailer secured for driving, then took off for Tucson.

Since we had lost an hour, we had Cole take the SunTran to the exit off the freeway that would take us to the RV resort and Cole was there waiting for us.  Quite the reunion inside the truck!

The Rincon RV Resort that we are staying in is absolutely astounding (but we are paying A LOT to stay here).  It’s a gated community of over 1,000 RV’s and single wide mobile homes – something they call “park models”.  Turns out they are very affordable!  They are only about 20-30K and they you pay $5,500 per year in resort fees, which covers your garbage and water.  As we drove in, EVERY person we passed waved warmly at us.  Cole was in heaven and started snapping pictures with his phone and stating that he wanted to live there.  (55+ community only though – sorry Cole.)

The rest of the day was spent driving all over Tucson to multiple guitar stores so Cole could find a new guitar (as his was not playing very well due to drying out too much – lack of humidity down here.)
We finished our day by picking up Cole’s roommate and going out to dinner and then grocery shopping.

Happy Birthday to my sister Aly!
