Day 3: 'Visiting Friends & Familiar Places'

Papa Harmon's old house boat in Walnut Grove, CA

We found Papa Harmon's (Rick's father) old house boat!  It took a lot of brain power between both of us, trying to remember things from 20 years ago.  We realized how foggy memories can get after a few decades but we were happy to at least remember enough to find Papa’s old home.

Next we went to a wildlife preserve called Consumnes River Preserve, where we were going to meet one of my former GE coworkers, my friend Jen.  She drove 2 hours from San Francisco to meet up with us for the day and the wildlife preserve was absolutely beautiful.  We had a wonderful visit and also walked about 4 miles all around the preserve.  I even got a chance to see some unusual ducks and geese.  (American Coot’s and Great White Fronted Geese).

Kitty and Beamer have started settling into RV life.  Kitty seems totally at home inside of it and Beamer has now “woken up” and is restless, wanting out of his cage.  I let him out for a bit today, but since I have to disinfect everything afterwards, he may not get this “treat” too often.
